How many pictures will we receive? And how long after the photoshoot do we receive them?
A.The number of images you receive depends on your chosen shoot. Please allow up to 2-4 weeks for your full gallery, but I’ll share a sneak peek on my socials within a week of your session
When is the best time to book my family session?
A.The best time to book your family session is during golden hour, which is the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset. This time provides soft, flattering light that adds a warm, golden glow to your photos, creating a beautiful and natural ambiance. I recommend scheduling your family photoshoot annually to capture the changes and growth in your family over time. Spring, summer, and autumn offer stunning seasonal backdrops, but winter can also provide some truly magical and unique photo opportunities
How should we dress for our family session?
A.For your family session, I recommend neutral tones and minimal prints for a clean, timeless look. I also offer a client wardrobe for mama to choose from. After you book your shoot, I’ll send you a guide with detailed suggestions on what to wear and my client wardrobe.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
A.The best time for a newborn session is within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are usually more sleepy and flexible, allowing for the peaceful moments. To ensure you get the timing right, it’s a good idea to book your session as soon as you find out you're pregnant. We’ll pencil in your due date and adjust as needed once your baby arrives. If necessary, sessions can be arranged up to two months old to capture those early, precious details.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
A.Absolutely, it’s perfectly okay to feel a bit unsure in front of the camera! My goal is to make you feel relaxed and comfortable during your session. I’ll guide you through the process to help you feel at ease while capturing natural interactions. My aim is to capture genuine moments and emotions, so just be yourself, and we’ll create beautiful photos together
What happens when I book with you?
A.When you book with me, we’ll first pick a date, and I’ll recommend the best time for your session. I’ll then send you an email with a questionnaire, location guide, and tips on how to prepare for your session. If applicable, I’ll also send information about the client wardrobe. Once we’ve set the date, time, and location, I’ll need a deposit to secure your booking. The week of your session, I’ll reach out to confirm everything, and on the day, I’ll arrive 10 minutes early to make sure everything is ready to go. After the session, if you’ve agreed, I’ll share a sneak peek on socials; if not, I’ll send you a preview image directly. Please allow about a week for this. I’ll send you a gallery preview where you can select your images, or you can choose to purchase the full gallery. Your final high-resolution photos will be delivered within four weeks of our session together
I am worried about how my child will act during the shoot
A.It’s completely normal to have concerns about how your child will act during the shoot. I’m here to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for your family. I’ll adapt to your child’s mood and energy, capturing their natural expressions and interactions. If they need breaks or want to play, we can adjust the session as needed. My goal is to make the experience fun and stress-free while capturing those genuine moments
Will my photos be used on Social Media?
A.I typically share select photos from sessions on my social media platforms and website to showcase my work and provide inspiration to other clients. However, if you prefer not to have your images shared publicly, just let me know, and I’ll respect your privacy. If you'd still like to allow for some sharing, we can use photos that don’t show faces. Your comfort and preferences are important to me, and I’m happy to accommodate your wishes regarding the use of your photos
Who Supplies the Cake for the Cake smash?
A.Typically, the client supplies the cake for the cake smash session. This lets you choose a cake that matches your theme, preferences, and any dietary needs or allergies. If you prefer, I can supply the cake for an additional charge. In that case, please provide details about your request, including colour, flavour, and any allergy considerations.
Is family photos included in the Cake Smash Session?
A.Yes, a family photo is included with your cake smash session! We’ll start with some family shots before the cake smash begins so you have a few beautiful family moments to go along with the milestone photos. Also, siblings and/or parents are welcome to join in the fun halfway through the smash for some playful, candid shots together.
Are there any additional fees for travel or special requests?
A.Additional fees may apply for travel or special requests. If your session is outside the Perth metro area or requires significant travel, there may be a travel fee. Special requests, such as unique props I'll need to order and provide or extended session times, could also incur extra charges. I’ll discuss any potential additional costs with you upfront to ensure there are no surprises and we can plan accordingly.
All galleries include a number of photos with the option to upgrade, which will be outlined in your first gallery delivery.
There is an additional charge for extended family sessions and for including siblings in Tiny Tots sessions. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about potential additional charges for the session you’re interested in and the people you want included
How does birth/fresh 48 photography work?
A.Birth and Fresh 48 photography capture the early moments of your baby’s life, each with its unique approach:
Birth Photography: This captures the moments from labour and delivery, documenting the emotional and physical aspects of bringing your baby into the world. I’ll be on call as your due date approaches and arrive at the hospital, birthing centre or your home when you’re in active labour. The focus is on capturing the raw and powerful moments of childbirth, creating a visual story of your baby's first moments.
Fresh 48 Photography: This takes place within the first 48 hours after birth, while your still in the hospital, birthing centre or shortly after your home birth. It focuses on the first interactions between your baby and family members, as well as capturing the tiny details of your newborn. I'll be on call to visit you shortly after birth to document these early moments, providing you with a collection of images that reflect the intimate and fleeting early hours of your baby’s life.
Both types of sessions aim to preserve these precious memories for you to cherish for years to come.
I am having a C-Section, can I Still have Birth Photos?
A.Yes, you can still have birth photos if you're having a C-section. Here’s how it typically works:
For a scheduled C-section, we can arrange for me to be present at the hospital before the procedure begins. I can capture the moments leading up to the surgery, including the anticipation and excitement. If hospital policies allow, I can also document the moments immediately after the birth, including the first meeting with your baby.
If your C-section is unexpected, you can let the hospital staff know about your desire for birth photos, and I can join as soon as possible after the delivery. We’ll capture the first interactions and the precious moments with your newborn.
The goal is to document the significant moments of your baby’s arrival and create lasting memories for you to cherish.
I don’t see an option for the type of photos I’m after. Would you consider doing something different?
A.Absolutely! I’m always open to new ideas and love creating unique experiences for my clients. If you have something specific in mind that isn’t listed, please feel free to reach out, and we can discuss your vision.
